Enjoying my short sabbatical

I'm enjoying my short sabbatical and finally starting to reconnect with some friends.  It is also nice to spend some quality time with Sue and do whatever we feel like doing - whenever we feel like doing it.

So what am I doing these days?  Exercising for one.  These past few weeks I have been running along the waterfront or exercising in the gym 4 to 5 times a week ... that is a lot for me!  We have also been trying different restaurants around the area, some we have heard of before and some we just happen to past by.  Another big challenge is figuring out where things are in Pike Place Market.  There are so many things in there that are hidden away due to some really strange floor designs.  It is like a maze that is designed to keep you wandering around and browsing for hours looking for some place you know is in there ... because you saw it last time you where in there.  Pioneer square also has a lot of interesting stores and entertainment to offer.  Today we are off to the eastside - downtown Bellevue, to see what we can find over there.

Since I didn't take my normal “Think and Motivate Week” off in January this year, I am also starting to catch up on some of the things I would normally do in that week.  Like figure out the next steps for my career, set some new goals (one is to run another marathon in the next year or two), take a look at where I am compared to where I was a few years ago ... so many things too do and so little time.

One of the things I have concluded is my writing skills need improved.  What does this mean to you?  This means I am going to be writing more original entries in this blog ... something I have been threatening to do for awhile now :)   Some of these 'original entries' will be entries like this and others will be technical content.  For example, I am working on some obfuscation tips and best practices that should help people who are just getting to the obfuscating of their products or looking at putting it into their life cycle.

Do you have any tips on things to do in the Seattle area?  Anyone want to meet for coffee this week?
