Senior Software Engineer - Boston, MA
Area: Technology Solutions & Product Strategy
Position Summary:
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for developing, debugging, testing, delivering and supporting software updates against existing releases of Introspect, a marketing-leading e-discovery and litigation support tool.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with support department and other engineering team members, conform to project schedules and produce high quality software deliverables Conform to design documents, coding guidelines and architectural specifications Solve software problems quickly and efficiently and with a minimum of errors introduced in the process
Skills and Experience Required:
Five to six (5-6) years of software development or engineering support experience as a member of an engineering team at a software product company Great troubleshooting skills along with the ability to work calmly under pressure Several successful projects as a developer using VB, C++ or C# Experience using XML and XSL Installshield experience very desirable Familiarity with major scanning, OCR, document imaging and search technologies desirable Experience migrating applications from Visual Basic 6 to .NET highly desirable ASP.NET development experience and training very desirable A good design-level understanding of the following: Web Services, Client/Server distributed computing and networking as well as Windows 2000 and 2003 development environments Please note that some occasional travel may be required to support customer migrations or problem solving
Education:
BA/BS degree required
Especially game for a custom Winforms UI controls skillset (could even be Principle level Software Engineer) that is heavy in C# or for a entry level with C# and good OOP intro skills.

SUMMARY
Insight Direct is seeking a Senior SQL Server Developer for our Software Engineering Department. As a Senior SQL Server Developer you will write complex Crystal reports for our customers and perform data conversions – DTS and ETL jobs from SQL Server, FoxPro, Dbase, Access, ACT, File Maker, QuickBooks, Goldmine and Excel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform complex DTS and ETL jobs
- Create complex Crystal Reports for our customers and various levels of management
- Gather requirements from users to report on various data statistics
- Modify and improve existing Crystal reports programs.
- Audit and tune stored procedures written by developers
- Create database documentation as needed. Schemas etc.
- Mentor junior developers
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong Analysis and problem-solving skills
- 5 years experience with SQL Sever and 2 years Crystal Reports in a production environment.
- Expert Transact SQL Skills
- Strong communication skills are mandatory.
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or applicable discipline or related experience preferred
