For the last week or so I have been using Omea for an RSS reader (instead of Rss Bandit - which I have been using since the beginning). Why the change you might ask (especially to a rss reader that cost $$)?
First reason: Aaron Weiker recommended it to me (him mentioning it was the first time I'd even heard of it)
Second reason: RssBandit wasn't scaling too well. I now have over 500 blogs that I subscribe to ... which Rss Bandit seemed to take its time to update ... most of them (seemed to be some scattered items that it would say I had read, but hadn't)
Third reason: My learning of C++ has now gotten to a level in which I am asking some questions on the news groups (can't answer too many yet) ... so the fact that Omea can also handle my newsgroup subscriptions is a major plus too (I'm not a big fan of Outlook express)
Forth reason: Omea indexes everything for faster searching ... imagine reading 1000+ entries a week and trying to find that one entry that mentioned that one thing that one time ...
So if you are in the market for a new rss reader that organizes your rss subscriptions, newsgroup subscriptions, emails, contacts, tasks and indexes all the above for fast searching, I would recommend you check out Omea.
