.Net Community Involvement Questions

Here are some questions that I have been thinking about for a while now ... all are related to community involvement.  I am wondering why people get involved and become active in the community.  I am also interested in finding out ways to get more people interested and involved in the community ... but need to know what some of the motivating factors are for other people.

Do you go to user groups?
What do you get out of it?  Why did you start going?
Why don't more people go to user groups?

Do you go to other community events (either sponsored by Microsoft or other companies)?
What do you get out of it?
If not, why don't you?

Are you active in other networking type events (geek dinners, code brews, etc.)?
What do you get out of it?  Why did you start going?
Why don't more people go to user groups?

Do you think anyone will really answer these questions?
Why do people enter comments on blogs?  What do you get out of it?
