SQL Server Service Pack 3 Install

Everytime I go to install SQL Server 2k SP3 I get ticked off freaking confusing it is to pick the right file to run for your setup .... why can't I just run a setup and it figure it out?  After all, isn't that what install packages are suppose to do?
