Halloween in The Witch City

Today is the top of Salem's tourist season... Halloween! Every year hundreds of thousands of people come to Salem (the witch city) for the Halloween festivities. The picture to the right is actually not a witch. Until recently I thought it was (after all it is right infront of the witch museum). It is Roger Conant the founder of Salem (originally Naumkeag). Here is a link about the witch trials. and check out this link Festival of the dead - Messages from the Spirit World: The Seance ... only $100 a person. It is in the Lyceum Bar and Grill which is supposedly haunted, maybe that is why their prices are so high;) Another good side for Halloween info in Salem is HauntedHappenings. Besides the witch trials you probably have heard of The House of Seven Gables, yea I know it was a book - but the actual house is here in Salem (where the author lived for awhile).

Interesting living in the northeast where most cities are so old (by US standards that is). Since I am from Indiana, old to me was 1800's. Old around here is at least 1600's. Amazing how slow things moved back then.
