I am leaving my current IT department job to ship a product for a change. I have been thinking about going to a product shop all year (since my Think Week in January), but due to the wedding I kept putting it off. I actually found the job I ended up taking in Chris Pels' Blog. - Thanks Chris!
Anyone else out there looking for a .Net position in the Boston area? If so, come over to the blogger dinner tomorrow night or the .Net User's Group Wednesday night maybe we can help you out.

Carreer building 101
Step 1 - figure out what you want to do with your career (maybe look at some job descriptions to see what excites you)
Step 2 - make a plan, set goals, maybe get certified for some technologies, help out with the local community (ie. user groups, blogs, etc)
Step 3 - get your resume up-to-date
Step 4 - get some cover letter wording (sort of a polishing step)
Step 5 - start focusing on applying for jobs, utilize your contacts as well as online resources to find the jobs you want and apply for them
Step 6 - if the job you want is a step up - PREPARE FOR THE INTERVIEW! - see Greg's Blog notes on interviewing
Step 7 - never forget this process is about your career - relax and enjoy connection to people who may be able to help you out in building your career in the future (never underestimate an interviewer or referal)
