Snowball effect with blogs I'm subscribing to

The more blogs I subscribe to ... the more blogs I read ... the more blogs I subscribe to ... and around and around I go. I'm not even close to Scoble's amount, but I can see how he has gotten up to 1,400 blogs. It seems like less than a month ago is when I reached 100 blogs and now I am up to 247! Nothing compared to 1,400 but it seems to be snowballing fast! So much good stuff out there. Wish I had some stats on how many I add a day. Anyone else notice this trend in their own blogging?

Actually, I just started blogging about 2 weeks ago. Yes I am one of those programmers who seem to have been living under a rock! The daylight is hurting my eyes and now my brain is exploding with all this new knowledge I'm gaining. I guess I can say that I have already noticed the snowballing effect. I started 2 weeks ago when a good freind of mine ( Jay Kimble ) started blogging and invited me to check it out. Now I'm already up to 20 blogs that I've subscribed to and finding new ones each day that I can't help but add. This looks to be a sickness. I hope someone can offer me a cure.

Dave, at that rate you should be up to 100 in 2-4 weeks. Not sure if there is a cure, but I can tell you there are withdrawal symptoms when you miss out on your reading and feelings of guilt if you don’t make your entries ;)

Oh yeah, I've been noticing the same trend myself. For quite a while I figured that I could handle as many blogs as I could find interesting, but as of late I've found it hard to get through all of my feeds. I've started removing feeds that I don't really read anymore, or find interesting, which definitely helps.

Check out http://feeds.scripting.com. You can post your OPML file and compare it with other OPML files, see who is subscribing to you, etc. (limited, of course, by those who are participating...). However, if you're interested in shared OPML files, this is one place to stop by.
