Honeymoon plans update

I'm no travel agent and usually not too bright when it comes to getting good deals on traveling, so if anyone has any suggestions.. let me know.

Here is my plan:

Step 1: Determine dates - completed today (Arrive Jun 21 and Depart Jun 28)

Step 2: Get plane tickets - Sue and I both have Skymiles credit cards so we get miles for about everything we buy (in case you don't know, right now you can sign up for double miles on all purchases a americanexpress's site) so we had enough miles to get some First Class tickets to Seattle on the days that we needed

Step 3: Determine where, when and how - started but not finished. I am checking out what was suggested in the original post and am now watching Matt Goyer's new SeattleRecommendations wiki page

Step 4: Make hotel reservations - not started yet

Step 5: Make rental car reservations - not started yet

Sue loves the W Hotels, she says they have great showers and beds. Is the W in Seattle good?

I've never stayed at the W in Seattle, but if it's the one downtown (like 5th or 6th and Stewart I think) I've eaten at the sushi bar there once and it's very nice. If you're wanting to be close to downtown that's a good one.

It's about 2 or 3 blocks over to Westlake center where you can catch the monorail if you want. It's in the free ride area downtown, means you can take the bus down to Pioneer Square for free. It's a little easier to hoof it around or take the bus downtown than it is to find parking ($8/5hr in some lots, $2/hr in other, some have a special rate if there's a football or baseball game, $20)

Provided you don't have any physical limitation, it's possible to walk down to Pike Place Market and the waterfront. Probably about 6 blocks or so to Pike Place.
