Industry Events in March and April (IT - Financial Services)

This year one of my goals is to be more proactive about my career and the industry I work in (IT/Financial Services), so I am increasing (by quite a bit) the amount of industry events that I attend. For anyone around the Boston area, The Boston-area User Group Calendar is a great place to find out what is going on. Here are some events that are coming up, that I will hopefully be at.

March 10 - Boston .net Users Group
Miguel de Icaza Co-founder and CTO of Ximian Corporation will speak on the the Mono project which was initiated to provide developers with a modern set of development tools as well as a mechanism to deploy .NET applications on UNIX and Linux systems. Mono incorporates key .NET-compliant components, including a C# compiler, a virtual execution system and a growing set of class libraries, including ASP.Net and ADO.Net as well as GNOME- and Linux-specific libraries. More than 150 developers from around the world contribute to Mono. For more information, visit http://www.ximian.com/mono or http://www.go-mono.com.

March 16 - DevDays, which I have signed up to blog at: DevDays Bloggers. I still haven't had anyone comment on meeting up after DevDays...., anyone...anyone...Bueller?

April 21-23 - Financial Services Developer Conference 2004. This is in Redmond, WA. If I get to make it to this, it will be my first time to Washington and to the Microsoft Campus. Sue wants me to see if I can check out some of the places people have suggested to go to for our honeymoon
